Desmond & Dempsey is a rapidly growing luxury pyjama brand. We’re famous for the quality of our pyjamas and our unique prints, which we hand-paint in our London studio. Since 2014 D&Ds have been finding a home in people’s top drawers, suitcases and top-tier luxury retailers around the world. We’ve recently been nominated for Premium Brand of the Year by Draper, are one of Walpole’s Brand of Tomorrow 2019 and are on the way to becoming the pyjama company.

We’re looking for a talented print designer to help our growing design team continue to create beautiful and inspiring industry-leading prints. 


  • Interpret art direction and print briefs to research and create print stories for seasonal collections, new product developments and bespoke commissions
  • Work closely with our Head of Print to design and paint inspiring, beautiful and industry-leading prints
  • Work with our design and production team to develop new products - considering the use of print, embroidery and other embellishments
  • Research new print techniques and base fabrics, making recommendations for how these could be applied
  • Develop print-ready technical artworks for print suppliers
  • Add print and/or embellishment details to garment tech packs
  • Prepare internal and external print design presentations
  • Work with our product development team to liaise with suppliers to bring print designs from the artwork stage to final product


We’re looking for a talented designer who is/has:

  • 2-3 years of professional print design experience
  • Extensive  knowledge and experience  of Photoshop & Illustrator
  • An extremely talented painter and illustrator (all our prints are hand-painted)
  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of the creative process, from brief to delivery
  • Eager to design incredible prints and comfortable working in different print mediums and try new things 
  • An awareness of luxury fashion trends
  • Curiosity for wider art and culture and how this influences creativity and trends
  • Meticulous with attention to detail
  • Great at giving and receiving feedback
  • Cares deeply about the finished product and understands print is one of the many elements that go into a great finished product
  • Hungry to learn and be part of a high growth start-up 
  • Thrives under pressure and is a great multi-tasker
  • Is not precious and is happy to roll their sleeves up and help the team, contributing a positive attitude


  • Adobe Indesign experience
  • Experience in a variety of fabric printing and dyeing techniques
