Our prints

This print is inspired by a trip to Udaipur, Rajasthan’s ‘City of Lakes’. There’s a room in the City Palace, plastered from floor to ceiling in a dreamscape of birds, gold-dipped ballrooms, waving palm trees, gods riding deer and elephants into the unknown. All rendered in stone and ghee using a squirrel’s tail paint brush. Back in London, we spent hours painting our own take on this - our own world of flora, fauna, palaces and palms (and the odd cow jumping out of a tree…)

First sliding out of the pages of The Jungle Book (based on the wild landscape surrounding Bundi in northwest India), Kaa is the mighty snake of Rudyard Kipling’s imagination. We’ve brought Kaa out from the thick of the jungle in this print, creating our own take on classic camouflage using silky gouache paint. A pomegranate sits like a juicy jewel in his jaw - a nod to India’s sweet, sticky air and trees heavy with fruit.
