If you’ve landed on this page, you are one of 100 to have received the humble tissue box. A product developed without commerical targets, and made exclusively to spread comfort, care and not snot.
Before our ode to the humble tissue box, let us tell you about our comfort drop. A comfort drop is Desmond & Dempsey’s chance to give away (read FREE) products that provide comfort, care or celebration to our community. To, metaphorically, be the neighbour that drops off soup and organises the street party.
As a brand, our purpose is to spread comfort. Our hope is that in giving away care, we remind and encourage our community that a little comfort goes along way.
The dream is that from our 100 free tissue boxes, we inspire 100 more small acts of care…
But why the tissue box?
Well, we are all about fancy versions of everyday things.
Monday the 20th is Blue Monday. Apparently, the most depressing day in the UK. A day, when we are reminded to check in on those who might be having a rough time…
In the hardest times of life and when the flu catches you, we often reach for the Tissue Box. During winters in the UK, they are a permanent fixture on our kitchen tables and desks, often clashing with ones aesthetic, and an external reminder of how we feel on the inside… rotten!
So we jazzed it up. We took our unused fabric strike offs and up-cycled them with a company called Kapdaa. Nish, their founder has taken his Mum's legacy of upcycling fabrics and scaled it into a sustainable enterprise.
