This collection began in an unlikely place: a monastery perched among castles and clouds on the island of Ischia, just off Naples. Joel and Molly escaped there for a few days and somewhere between figs, Parma ham and a bit of sunshine, the sketches for the prints in this collection began.
Ischia
A collection that was inspired by a Monastery and a Temple, on an island off the coast of Naples - Ischia.
Joel and Molly, visited for a long weekend and were so moved by the space, by the quiet and creativity that came from rest that we took that mood back to Brixton and hand painted three new prints.
Big, loose, ink-soaked florals. Dark and romantic on cream, or cream on black - the sort of print that looks just as good on a Tuesday morning as it does on a Sunday.
Drawn in pencil and crayon on a long afternoon. Tropical botanicals and soft figures, rendered in a hazy, sun-bleached blue. The kind of print you'd find pinned above a desk in a Neapolitan castle.
